Best and Worst Nollywood Films in 2017

OJUKOKORO
I never miss an opportunity to tell people how much Ojukokoro is one of my best Nollywood films ever! The best thing about the movie was how the story was told and how the cast brought life to it. I wish they would show it in the cinemas again because more people need to see it. Read my review on Ojukokoro HERE

ISOKEN
Isoken was another Nollywood Romantic comedy but they got every thing right about it. The cast, story, acting and characters were amazing. It explored the themes of friendship, self confidence, love and family and it was fun to watch. Dakore Egbuson did a fantastic job as the the titular character. Read my review HERE
CATCH.ER
Catch.er was a case of whodunnit that was filmed in a very beautiful way with the camera capturing the right angles. It was gripping and filled with enough suspense to keep me going till the credits rolled. We need more movies like Catch.er in our cinemas. Read my review on Catch.er HERE

PICTURE PERFECT
I still can't believe how much I loved Picture Perfect. It was genuinely hilarious and I hope Bolanle Ninolowo get an award in the comedy category for his role as "Jobe" because he was amazing. Picture Perfect wasn't a perfect film (no pun intended) but it was very entertaining to watch. Read my review on Picture Perfect HERE

WORST
THE GUEST
After watching the trailer for this Psychological Drama which starred Rita Dominic, Femi Jacobs and Somkele Idahlama, I literally predicted how the film would go and hoped they would prove me wrong but they didn't. The Guest had so many flaws that made me wonder if they did it on purpose or just didn't know what to do to make it better. Read my review on The Guest HERE

THE WOMEN
The Women starred some of the best female actresses in Nigeria including Omoni Oboli and Kate Henshaw but it felt like a low budget film that you forget about immediately you leave the theater. It had a good story line but a poor execution and some of the cast members weren't really the best choice for their roles. Read my review HERE

10 DAYS IN SUNCITY
Once again, AY gave us another cringe worthy "comedy" with a super thin plot filled with mediocre jokes. It was no different from A Trip To Jamaica and 30 Days In Atlanta but Nigerians still flocked to the cinemas to watch it. I really wish he would stop making such movies. We don't need another adventure from Akpos. Read my review HERE

MR AND MRS: CHAPTER 2
Mr and Mrs Chapter 2 is a follow up to the 2012 film starring Nse Ikpe Etim and Joseph Benjamin and it's no doubt one of the worst Nollywood films I've seen in a while. The storyline was very poor and some of the cast members made the whole experience worse than it could have been. It was a waste of the amazing actors like Rita Dominic and Chidi Mokeme and I wish I didn't see it. Read my review HERE

IDAHOSA TRAILS
The faith based film about the late Benson Idahosa was very flat and very boring. I still don't know how I was able to sit through it till the end. I literally almost dozed off a few times but I persevered till the end. This is another film I wish I skipped. Read my review HERE

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

"Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Then I thought it was the Police Chief, Bill who was in cahoots with Ado

Chicago Justice: Series Premiere/Crossover Episode-"Fake"

Image via imdb.com I looked forward to seeing Chicago Justice after it was announced because I love the One Chicago universe even though I'm yet to see the other shows, i'm very familiar with their stories and characters. I'm a crazy fan of Chicago PD so I'm going to binge watch all the episodes of Chicago Fire, but I don't think I'll be able to see Chicago Med. Medical shows are too emotional for me. With Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, I don't know where to start from, but I'll binge watch from season one to eighteen whenever I can for sure.  The four part crossover started with an episode on Chicago Fire and concluded in the season premiere of Chicago Justice. There is a fire at a warehouse and the Chicago Fire crew think it's an accident but Severide (Taylor Kinney) finds metal wedges shoved under the door which means whoever started the fire wanted everyone trapped inside, so its arson.
