Review- Memoirs Of 4 (2018)

Memoirs of 4 follows Teni (Adesua Etomi), Mariam (Linda Ejiofor), Sholape (Keira Hewatch) and Chika (Christine Godfrey) as they try to balance their friendship and relationships while struggling with the pressures from the society. I never saw a trailer or any form of promotion for Memoirs of 4 but I decided to see it anyways and to be very honest, I was completely disappointed. Etomi, Ejiofor and Hewatch did well with their roles but even their acting couldn’t bring life to this film. The acting from some of the cast members looked forced and the cinematography was a bit poor. The sound was terrible because it kept going off almost after every sentence. The entire film lasted 2 hours but it felt way longer than that mostly due to the fact that they had a lot of unnecessary scenes with a some of them being longer than they should be.  It also had a very horrible flow. It’s like they jumped from A to G then C and back to A. A lot of these scenes were very unrealistic and

Review- Fifty Shades Freed (2018)

Image via Imdb.com After Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele exchange vows, they set off on a lavish honeymoon but end up cutting it short after an unexpected break-in at Grey's Enterprise. They return to Seattle and both try to settle into their lives as newlyweds but new obstacles resurface and threaten their happy ending. I went into the movie theater to see the final chapter of E. L. James' Fifty Shades Trilogy well aware of what to expect. After all, I read the three books and saw the first two movies. So, I was ready! If I'm being totally honest, I liked the books but I can't say the same for the movie adaptation. One major problem I had was Jamie Dornan being cast as Christian Grey. He's a good actor but it seemed like he wasn't the right fit for this role. I still wish they went with Charlie Hunnam who I could totally see as the character. Dakota Johnson does a good job as Ana and Eric Johnson was okay as Jack. Image via Imdb.com Dakota and

Review- Black Panther (2018)

Image via imdb.com After the death of his father, T'Challa returns home to Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T'Challa's has to stop him and keep his nation from being ruled by an evil person. The conflict puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with danger, T'Challa has to release the full power of the Black Panther to defeat his enemies and save his people. Image via eonline.com The hype surrounding Marvel’s Black Panther has been insane! Everyone has been excited about the fact that we’re finally getting an almost all black cast in a superhero movie and not just any cast. From T’Challa himself, Chadwick Boseman to Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira. These are all phenomenal actors and I was really looking forward to seeing what they’ll do with their roles. News flash! They murdered it! I don’t think they would have done better with anoth

Homeland Season 7 Premiere Recap- "Enemy of The State"

Homeland is back people!!! Before season 7 premiered last night, I thought about how the show would look without my beloved Quinn. My mind always flashes back to his death and I get so angry. I still don’t understand why they had to kill his character like that. The most painful thing is that he died protecting the evil President Keane who according to Carrie is a fascist and I couldn’t agree more.  Carrie and Frannie are now living with Carrie’s sister, Maggie, her husband Bill who works for Keane’s Treasury Department and their 16 year old soon-to-become-an-activist daughter, Josie. I still don’t understand how Josie became so big. Wasn’t she a little girl the last time we saw her? Apparently, Saul and about two hundred Intelligence Agents are still locked up in jail. Carrie tells her sister that she’s going for a job interview but that’s just a cover for her to do what she does best. Being a spy! After getting Senator Paley (Dylan Baker) on board with witness protection, Carr

Review- The Royal Hibiscus Hotel (2018)

Image via Imdb.com    The Romantic Comedy follows Ope  (Zainab Balogun) , the daughter of Segun (Jide Kosoko) and Rose Adeniyi (Rachel Oniga) who own the prestigious Royal Hibiscus Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. Ope returns home to Lagos after quitting  her job as a chef in a restaurant in London and plans to transform the hotel with her exotic meals only to find out that her parents are selling the hotel to Deji (Kenneth Okolie), a business man who she falls in love with. Will love conquer all or will Ope give up on love and pursue her dream?   To be very honest, I went into the theater expecting The Royal Hibiscus Hotel to be like every regular Nollywood Romantic Comedy but I was pleasantly surprised by how almost flawless it was. They couldn’t have picked a better cast for this film. Zainab Balogun is a phenomenal actress and she played Ope with such class. Mr Nigeria himself, Kenneth Okolie did a great job with his role and I was in love with Rachel Oniga as Ope’s mom, Rose. Her che

Review- 12 strong (2018)

Image via imdb.com     Based on the book "Horse Soldiers" by Doug Stanton, 12 Strong stars  Chris Hemsworth ,  Michael Shannon ,  Michael Peña ,  Navid Negahban ,  Trevante Rhodes, Geoff Stults ,  Thad Luckinbill ,  William Fichtner , and  Rob Riggle   star in this True Life War Drama about the first Special Forces team deployed to Afghanistan weeks after the 9/11 attacks. Under the leadership of a new captain, the team must work with an Afghan warlord to take down the Taliban. I never pass the opportunity to see a True Life film. Mostly because they’re always so raw and I get emotional thinking about what the real people went through. The actors did a good job with their roles and Mr Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth did a fantastic job as the lead. I think Navid Negahban as General Abdul Rashid Dostum was my favorite cast and actor in this film. It was obvious that he was willing to do anything to bring down the Taliban with or without the help of the Americans.
