Review- Oceans 8 (2018)

I love a good Heist film especially when it stars actors I love and I was excited about this spin-off of the Oceans Trilogy mostly because it stars Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham-Carter and together with Mindy Kaling, Sandra Bullock, Akwafina and Ann Hathaway, they pulled off their heist and gave us a worthy popcorn flick. Upon her release from prison, Danny Ocean's estranged sister Debbie attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City's star-studded annual Met Gala and steal a necklace worth $150 Million. The casting of this film is almost perfect and it had a lot of glamorous scenes of stars at the Met Gala but I felt like they would have done more with the plot. I wasn't expecting mind blowing cinematography or an Oscar worthy plot but something not worth forgetting few hours after stepping out of the movie theater. I loved the acting and chemistry between these eight beautiful ladies but there was literally

Shailene Woodley Fights for Survival in "Adrift"

Image via IMDB.com I'm a sucker for Romantic Drama's and I love them more when they're based on True Stories. Starring Shailene Woodley (A Fault In Our Stars) and Sam Claflin (Me Before You, Adrift follows the story of Tami (played by Woodley), a 24 year old drifter from San Diego on the hunt for new adventures and Richard (Claflin), a Sailor and ship builder as they meet and fall in love in Tahiti in the 1983. They get paid by an older couple to take their boat to San Diego and on their way, they get hit by Hurricane Raymond and are left adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. With no hope for rescue, Tami must find a way to save herself and the only man she had ever loved,  Richard. Image via IMDB.com I was immediately hooked after seeing the trailer for Adrift and I knew I had to see it. It's based on the memoir by Woodley's character, Tami Oldman titled Red Sky in Mourning: A True Story of Love, Loss and Survival at Sea . The cinematography wa

Patrick Melrose Confronts his Demons in "At Last"

Add caption Words are not enough to express how much I loved Showtime’s Patrick Melrose. The first few minutes of the first episode already had me hooked. I was in awe of how much Benedict Cumberbatch became this character. In Patrick Melrose, he became a recovering drug and alcohol addict who was sexually abused by his father at a very young age. After the first episode, we got a bit more insight into the real reason why Patrick kept pumping himself of heroine, cocaine and alcohol. “At Last”, Patrick came to terms with the fact that he was actually abused by his father and somewhat neglected by his mother. He has to confront his past one last time at his mother’s funeral. He was not able to do he eulogy and he had a panic attack. This scene was one of my favorite scenes and I couldn’t help but feel so terrible for Patrick because I kept thinking about what a little child could go through under the hands of a sexually abusive parent. Add caption The finale is just as
