The Sophomore Season of The Handmaids Tale Comes to an End- Review

This season of Hulu’s The Handmaids Tale has been very emotional and intense. June went from almost getting her freedom (twice) to being back at the Waterford’s. Season one of what I consider the best thing to happen to TV premiered in 2017 and after bingeing all 10 episodes, I was in shock of how perfectly scripted it was. The acting from the likes of Elisabeth Moss , Yvonne Strahovski , Alexis Bledel , Joseph Fiennes and Madeline Brewer solidified its position in the TV world and in my heart. I spent the next year thinking about what could possibly happen in the second season because the first season was based solely on the book by Margaret Atwood but this season took a leap away from the source material and gave us something that was a bit more frustrating than the first.      It seemed like they took three steps forward and a massive five steps backwards. With the characters, you really couldn’t tell what version you’ll be gett...

Praise Be! The Handmaids Tale Is Back!

Praise be! The Second season of one of my favorite shows premiered on Wednesday, April 25th and if you've been following my social media, you"ll see that I've literally been counting down and anticipating the return of the award wining show. Season one blew my mind and I haven't been able to stop talking about it to anyone that cared to listen. Season one ended with Offred getting shoved into the back of a van and it left us wondering what was going on and where they were taking her. Season two continues from this point and we find out that it’s just Aunt Lydia trying to play her mind games with the handmaids. To be honest, I shed a tear when they put the ropes around their necks. I thought at least one of them was going to die. This was such an emotional scene and I keep asking myself how these actors deal with such intense scenes. Aunt Lydia is truly evil and she wasn’t playing when she told the Handmaids that there were going to be consequences for their refus...

Binge Worthy: The Handmaid's Tale Season One Review

Image via imdb.com The first time I heard about The Handmaids Tale, I wasn't sure it was something I would be interested in seeing but I was encouraged by someone so I gave it a try and it has quickly topped my list for one of the best shows ever created for TV. This Hulu Drama is an adaptation of the 1985 novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood about a dystopian country named Gilead (former United States) ruled by a twisted militaristic totalitarian government. In Gilead, women are not allowed to work or own property. The fertile women are taken to the houses of some of the elites who are not able to have children. The job of these Handmaids is to get pregnant by their commanders. Once they have the child, they are taken to another home and cycle continues. Elizabeth Moss plays Offred, a Handmaid who is trying to survive so she could one day reunite with her daughter who was taken from her.  Image via imdb.com This show, which comprises of ten episodes was mind bl...
