American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace- Finale Review

I was so excited when I found out that the sophomore season of Ryan Murphy 's critically acclaimed anthology series was going to focus on the assassination of legendary designer Gianni Versace. Season one was amazing and I was sure this season wasn't going to be any different. I'll admit, it was a bit slow paced sometimes but I still enjoyed watching nonetheless. In my opinion, I think this was more of Andrew Cunanan's story, how he started killing and the people he murdered. I can't say it enough but Darren Criss deserves an Emmy for his role as Cunanan because he was phenomenal. There was obviously tension between Versace's partner Antonio and his sister, Donatella and we saw more of this in "Alone" . The priest refused to acknowledge Antonio or even let Antonio touch him. All of this led to Antonio's suicide attempt which was pretty sad.   "Creator / Destroyer" directed by White Collar's Matt Bomer was honestly one of my

Review- Tomb Raider (2018)

Image via Imdb.com Alicia Vikander plays Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of Richard Croft (Dominic West)  an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was just a teenager. Now 21, Lara lives a carefree life, can barely make rent and takes college classes from time to time, Lara is determined to forge her own path and not end up like her father. She solves a puzzle and finds a video left by her dad before his demise and goes against his wishes to his last known location off the Coast of Japan to find out what truly happened to him. The mission isn't an easy one and Lara must find a way to survive this dangerous adventure. Image via Imdb.com I'm always very skeptical about reboots and I felt the same way about Tomb Raider but I'm so glad that I wasn't disappointed because it was a pretty entertaining film. Alicia Vikander did an awesome job. This is more of an origin story for Vikander's character and and I was really impressed with her act

Shondaland's For The People- Pilot Review

I'm always ready to see any show that has " Shondaland "attached to it and when I saw the reailer for  " For The People ", I knew I had to see it. Plus, who doesn't love a good Legal Drama? I know I do. It's set in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) Federal Court, also known as "The Mother Court"and follows brand new lawyers working for both the defense and the prosecution as they handle the most high-profile and high-stakes cases in the country and how their personal lives intersect. The episode begins with a group of young lawyers which include Leonard Knox (RegĂ©-Jean Page) the son of a senator groomed for bigger things, the very efficient Kate Littlejohn (Susannah Flood), Seth Oliver (Ben Rappaport), who is dating Allison (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Sandra Bell (Britt Robertson)and Jay Simmons (Wesam Keesh). Even with the strong cast, I still feel a little let down with the pilot. The premise seems very simple and there&#

This Is Us Finale Review- "Épisode 18"

The second season of NBC's This Is has been one of the best things I've seen in a a while. I cried, laughed and was left in awe of how amazing these actors are. I couldn't get enough. My favorite episodes were Number One , Number Two , Number Three (Episodes 8, 9 and 10) especially the episode that focused on Kevin. To be honest, I don't think Justin Hartley, Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore are getting enough credit. I wish I could give them all the awards because they deserve it. We finally got to see how Jack died and it's on the list of my worst TV deaths. Even though we all knew that Jack died, I still couldn't watch the episode without crying my eyes out. And the tears kept flowing during the funeral episode. So far, this season, there was a miscarriage, a fire, an accident that led to a DUI, a foster child and a wedding.  So it's finally Kate and Toby's wedding day and it brought up a few feelings for Kate which hopefully were somehow resol

Review- Game Night (2018)

Image via imdb.com  Bateman and McAdams star as Max and Annie, whose weekly couples game night gets kicked up a notch when Max's charismatic brother, Brooks ( Kyle Chandler ), arranges a murder mystery party, complete with fake thugs and FBI Agents. Brooks gets kidnapped and they all think it's still part of the game until the clues leads them to discover that it may be more than just a game. Without any rules or points, the night turns into a very chaotic one as they try to find Brooks. Image via imdb.com When I saw the trailer for Game Night, I knew it was going to be off the chains and I'm so glad because It was way better than I expected it to be. Jason Bateman never disappoints and his chemistry with his co-star Rachel McAdams was awesome. Jesse Plemons , Sharon Horgan , Billy Magnussen , Lamorne Morris , Kylie Bunbury and Kyle Chandler were phenomenal as the supporting cast members and were all hilarious to watch. Plemons stole every sc

Review- Gringo (2018)

Image via imdb.com In Gringo, David Oyelowo ( Selma, A United Kingdom ) plays Harold Soyinka who works for a company run by two ruthless people, Elaine ( Charlize Theron ) and Richard ( Joel Edgerton ) who finds out that he was going to get fired and lose his wife. Harold realizes that playing by the rules may not always be the best way to win so he hatches up a plan to fake his kidnap and trick his bosses into sending him 5 Million Dollars. Image via imdb.com I was literally counting down to Gringo’s premiere mostly because of my love for the titular character, David Oyelowo , Charlize Theron and that hilarious trailer but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. All I could think about was how no filmmaker could go wrong with this caliber of cast members. A fantastic cast doesn’t necessarily mean the movie is going to do well. Oyelowo, Theron and Edgerton did a fantastic job with their roles and so did the supporting cast members. The acting was superb

Review- Red Sparrow (2018)

Poster via Imdb.com Jennifer Lawrence ( Mother! , The Hunger Games ) plays Dominika Egorova, a Russian Ballerina who is forced to become a Spy by her Uncle after she sustains an injury that ends her career as a Ballerina. When her mother’s future and her life is threatened, she agrees to become one of the newest recruits at Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains young men and women to use their bodies and minds as weapons for their country. After going through the rigorous training processes at Sparrow School, she is sent into the world on a mission which puts her and everyone she loves at risk. Dominika must prove herself to her superiors and fight to gain her freedom.  Image via Imdb.com After seeing the trailer for this Spy Thriller which is based on the 2013 novel of the same name, I wasn’t really enthusiastic mostly because it seemed like something we’ve all seen before about a female Russian spy who is working against her wish and trying to find a wa
