For the past 7 episodes, the question on my mind has been "why did Cora do it" and the question was finally answered in last night's season finale. We find out that Phoebe died in the arms of Frankie Belmont (Eric Todd) the night she went out with Cora. The most shocking part of the episode was when it was revealed that Frankie's father was responsible for the memory gap Cora experienced. Apparently, after Frankie called him years ago to tell him about Phoebe, he immediately told his son to go home and buried Phoebe's body in the woods with JD. He wanted to kill Cora too but ended up taking her to his house where he covered his face with a ski mask and injected her with drugs for months to stop her from remembering what happened that night.
