Diary of a Movie Lover

I was so excited when I found out that the sophomore season of Ryan Murphy 's critically acclaimed anthology series was going to focus on the assassination of legendary designer Gianni Versace. Season one was amazing and I was sure this season wasn't going to be any different. I'll admit, it was a bit slow paced sometimes but I still enjoyed watching nonetheless. In my opinion, I think this was more of Andrew Cunanan's story, how he started killing and the people he murdered. I can't say it enough but Darren Criss deserves an Emmy for his role as Cunanan because he was phenomenal. There was obviously tension between Versace's partner Antonio and his sister, Donatella and we saw more of this in "Alone" . Image via imdb.com    The second season of Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story anthology series focuses on the murder of Fashion Icon Gianni Versace  i n 1997 by spree killer Andrew Cunanan in front of his Miami Beach home. The nine-episode season is based on the book, Vulgar Favors by Maureen Orth. The first episode is super stylish, beautiful and colorful with characters brought to life by phenomenal actors.  No one could have done it better than Darren Criss who plays Cunanan. He has certainly left his Glee days behind and taken up this murderous character with so much fervour. I smell an Emmy coming for him next year. Édgar Ramírez plays Versace while Penélope Cruz plays his sister, Donatella Versace   and Ricky Martin plays his partner Antonio D’ Amico .  The episode begins with the activities of the morning that led to the murder and there’s a flashback of how Cunanan and Versace met back in 1990. Cunanan stalked and tracked Ve...
