How To Get Away With Murder: Winter Premiere

Image via ew.com HTGAWM shattered a lot of hearts with its mid season finale which included the death of a very beloved character. I still can't come to terms with the fact that Wes actually is dead. Here's a quick run down of what went down in the last few episodes. Laurel & Wes started a romantic relationship, someone blew up Annalise's house, Laurel was in the house when it blew up and she's pregnant with Wes' baby, WES DIED, Annalise was arrested for arson and is a prime suspect for Wes' death, Oliver wiped Annalise's phone before she got arrested and Frank is back! "We're Bad People" begins with a flash back of Annalise watching Wes play football with Meggy and this brings back memories of Wes playing football as a child. It's a flashback within a flashback. In the present day, Annalise gets transferred to jail giving me some  Orange is the New Black  vibes. Bonnie visits Laurel in the hospital and tells her that Wes ha

Suits Winter Premiere: Recap

Image via google.com The mid season finale ended with Harvey telling Donna that he was going to be okay after Jessica left. "She's Gone" continued from where the last episode left of with a Donna and Harvey (#Darvey) dream which I honestly thought was real for a few seconds until I realized it could only be a dream. I knew that the writers wouldn't rush through something so important. That scene was such a tease but at least we know it'll happen sometime in the future. Harvey definitely has very strong feelings for Donna which he probably doesn't want to get into at the moment. Robert Zane offers his daughter Rachel a job at his firm so she'll have a better chance at passing the character and fitness portion of the Bar but Rachel declines telling him she can't abandon her work family at Pearson Specter Litt when they need her the most. Mike hops back on his bike looking for a job at different legal clinics but he comes to term with the fact that n

The 2017 Oscars: Nominations

It's award season guys and the Oscar nominations just came in! La La Land leads the pack with a total of 14 nominations including best picture and best director. Moonlight has 8 nominations including best picture and best director. Arrival ties with Moonlight with 8 nominations including sound, cinematography and production design. Lion and Hacksaw ridge both have 6 nominations with Mel Gibson nominated in the Best Director category. The biggest Oscar snubs incudes Amy Adams in Arrival, Taraji P. Henson in Hidden Figures, Tom Hanks for Sully and Clint Eastwood as the director. Birth Of A Nation directed by Nate Parker also deserved to be nominated. After the #OscarsSoWhite trend last year, the Academy nominated 6 black actors which I only hope would increase next year with more African Americans and Latinos. The Oscars will air on February 26, 2017 with Jimmy Kimmel as its host. Here are the nominees;  Best picture La La Land Moonlight Manchester by the Sea Arrival F

Hidden Figures

Theatrical Release Poster Based on the book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly, Hidden Figures is about three African American women who worked for NASA and contributed to space travels in the early 1960's. I had never heard about Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan & Mary Jackson before this movie and I was excited to see that these women who a lot of people haven't heard about were being the focus of a major motion picture film. The three best friends worked for NASA at a time where racial segregation was still very common in the United States. NASA used these women as their human computers and paid less. Mary and Katherine are taken away for a temporary assignment while Dorothy who wants the position of supervisor stays in charge of the African American female computers.  Still of Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer & Janelle Mon áe ( Image via imdb.com ) Mary is eventually able to become an Engineer after taking classes in an all white school, Dor

Sherlock: The Final Problem

Image via bbc.com In The Final Problem, we got to see one of the most evil villains after Moriarty and and she was a Holmes. This season finale which I still hope isn't the end of the series was very intense and full of mystery. Instead of starting from where the last cliff hanging episode ended with Euros Holmes pointing a gun at John, the episode begins with a little girl on a plane with everyone sleeping. She picks up a phone and we hear the voice of no other than Moriarty. "Hello, my name is Jim Moriarty. Welcome to the final problem." In the next scene, Mycroft is watching an old movie which gets interrupted by a message saying "I'm back!". The lights start flickering, so Mycroft gets up to look around the basement and blood starts coming out of the eyes of the pictures on the walls. He thinks Euros is actually in his apartment but apparently it was only Sherlock & John putting up a show to scare him into telling them about Euros. They all
