Amy Adams Goes Dark in "Sharp Objects"- Episode One Review

    HBO's Sharp Objects focuses on Reporter, Camille Parker played by Golden Globe winner, Amy Adams, who returns to her tiny hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri after recently checking out of a psychiatric hospital to cover the mysterious murders of two pre-teen girls. Camille has hardly spoken to her very controlling mother or her 13 year old half-sister for years and going back to Wind Gap was the last thing she needed. She has a lot of demons of her own and going back home unravels a lot of puzzles from her past. 
   I'm not the one to shy away from watching a good murder mystery and the fact that this stars Amy Adams made it a very easy decision. Based on Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn’s first novel, the eight-part miniseries' first episode titled "Vanish"already has me hooked. Adams doesn't do a lot of talking but her body language and the flashbacks show that she's a troubled woman with a very dark past. It's okay to compare Sharp Objects to Big Little Lies because they have the same director, Jean-Marc Vallee. They are both dark mysteries and have strong female characters.

    I love the dark theme and how the Camille's story unfolds through the flashbacks and I love how it intertwines with her present life. It's not as cliche as I thought it would be and it gets more mesmerizing with each scene. Patricia Clarkson who plays Camille's mother, Adora, is already a fave. She's super controlling and very oblivious of her teenage daughter's rebellious ways. She thinks Camille's homecoming is going to lead to more trouble and doesn't want any part of it. I was taken aback when she opened the door for Camille and said her house wasn't up to par for visitors. This is a case of Whodunit and I'm wondering how many bottles of vodka it'll take for Camille to find the supposed serial killer. So who is murdering these girls? Is it a drifter? a townsman? a policeman? This is obviously going to be a very riveting murder mystery and I can't wait to see how it unravels. Amy Adams may just get that Emmy after all.

 A new episode of Sharp Objects airs next Sunday.

Goodbye Mike & Rachel- Suits' Seventh Season Finale Review

  Suits is one of my favorite Legal Drama's and for some reason, I'm still very invested in the show after 7 seasons. I don't think they've had any bad season and they've done such a great job with the growth and development of the major characters but the time to say goodbye to Mike and Rachel was finally here. Due to the fact that Meghan Markle would be getting married to Prince Harry, I guess it was a good time to wrap up her love story with Mike and they do this with the fairy tale wedding we've all been waiting for. Mike and Rachel have been an item since the first season and have been engaged since the fifth. They would have been married a season ago but were not able to because of Mike's time in prison. I always loved their chemistry and I was so sad to see them say goodbye and more than anything, I loved Mike and Harvey's relationship. It was so genuine and pure. SUITS: Season 6 finale

        The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional.
