Best TV Shows of 2018 (So Far)

The year is half way gone and now is the time to list out my favorites. So far, 2018 has been such a good year for TV with the premiere and return of so many amazing shows. From Benedict Cumberbatch in Patrick Melrose to Christine Baranski in The Good Fight and Donald Glover in Atlanta, it's been a roller coaster.

Here's a list of six of my favorite shows far,
6. THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE-AMERICAN CRIME STORY
The first season of Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story was phenomenal and it set such a high bar for the second season. Unfortunately, It wasn't as good as the first but I still enjoyed watching mostly because of the acting from Glee's Darren Criss who I think deserves an Emmy for his performance. This story was more about Versace's killer, Andrew Cunnanan than Versace himself and Criss outdid himself as the psycho killer.
5. THIS IS US (Season 2)
This Is Us is one show I never expected to fall in love with. I'm not a sucker for sappy shows but I couldn't help but fall in love with this Drama. Season two solidified it's position in my heart and I couldn't get enough. This is one show everyone needs to see.
4. ATLANTA (Season 2)
Waiting a whole year to see the second season of Atlanta was not something I enjoyed but after watching season two, I'm glad they took their time to give us such an amazing season which I thought was way better than the first in every way. I found myself tearing up from intense laughter during most of the episodes except Teddy Perkins of course. It was so haunting. I still think about that episode sometimes. I really appreciated Donald Glover for his physical transformation and the writers for writing an award deserving episode. Robbin Season was phenomenal.
 3. THE GOOD FIGHT (Season 2)
Anyone following my social media knows how obsessed I was (am) with The Good Wife and it's no different with this Spinoff. I thought Season one was great but Season Two was perfect. From the court cases, to the subplots and of course Diane's very infectious laughter.
 2. THE HANDMAIDS TALE (Season 2)
I was a bit worried after the first season of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaids Tale because it was just so good and I wondered if Season two was going to be as amazing. I'm so glad I wasn't disappointed because this season has been off the chains. I get goosebumps  every single time I think about this show and I hope Elisabeth Moss gets ALL THE AWARDS because she deserves it. I can't even begin to imagine the emotional roller coaster that comes with playing such a role. Everything about this show is amazing and it should be on every "best shows" list
1. PATRICK MELROSE
I've always loved Benedict Cumberbatch but it's safe to say I've become somewhat obsessed with him after seeing him play the titular character in this Showtime Limited Series. The acting, the screenplay, the setting and the plot were superb. Jennifer Jason-Leigh was my next favorite after Cumberbatch and she should get a nomination in the 'Best Supporting Actress" category. She really played the negligent mother really well, especially the older years. The supporting cast, including Hugo Weaving, were amazing but it was really Cumberbatch that held this show together. His acting left me speechless.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

Review- Who's The Boss (2020)

Directed by Chinaza Onuzo, "Who's The Boss" follows Liah (Sharon Ooja) , an Advertising Executive who struggles to climb the cooperate ladder while juggling her mean and vindictive boss Hauwa (Funke Akindele- Bello). She takes the advice of her best friend Jumoke (Ini Dima-Okojie) and enlists her friend Lekan (Blossom Chukwujekwu), a known play boy into posing as her boss but ends up falling for him. It doesn't get any more cliche than this. After watching the first teaser for the Inkblot comedy, I was a little intrigued and looked forward to seeing how they were going to pull it off but sadly, it fell short in more ways than one. The biggest issue I had was the lead character and the actress cast to play it. Ooja has been typecast and I thought seeing her as the lead would show us a different side to the actress but my perception of her acting skills are worse than before. There's nothing worth remembering about this story and her acting did nothing to el

Deepwater Horizon

Theatrical Release Poster Deepwater Horizon is a true life movie based on the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig on April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana. The movie starts with us meeting Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg), his wife Felicia (Kate Hudson) and their daughter. We also meet Andrea Fleytas (Gina Rodriguez) as she's dropped off at the heliport on a bike by her friend. Mike and Andrea meet one of their bosses, Mr. Jimmy (Kurt Russell) at the Heliport. They all board the helicopter and are taken to Deepwater Horizon. At the rig, there's a lot of talk and conversation about the condition of the rig. Caleb Holloway (Dylan O'Brien) and Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg)  The BP executive, Donald Vidrine (John Malkovich) doesn't support the tests ordered by Mr. Jimmy and some of the employees including Jason Anderson (Ethan Suplee), Caleb Holloway (Dylan O'Brien) and Andrea Fleytas (Gina Rodriguez) are also very concerned about
