Review- Aquaman (2018)

When Arthur Curry finds out he is the heir to the throne of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis and their only hope at peace, he is forced to come to terms with with his true identity and must return home to be their hero ad stop the war.

I have literally been counting down to Aquaman's premiere but I tried not to get too excited because I didn't want to be let down yet again by DC and I'm so happy they didn't disappoint. Is there truly anyone on this planet that doesn't love Jason Momoa? What's there not to love? He was amazing as Aquaman and the right actor for the role. He was funny without trying too hard and he gave so much life to his character. The main characters which were portrayed by Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson were very well explored and I loved Aquaman's chemistry with Meera (Amber Heard). Wonder Woman and Justice League's CGI looked a little bit too cartoony but Aquaman's was really stunning to look at. They made me think Atlantis was actually a real kingdom under water. It was over two hours but it had great pacing so I didn't even feel like I was in the movie theatre for that long because of how entertained I was from the beginning till the credits rolled.

I'm so happy that DC finally found its footing through the amazing direction of James Wan. I haven't truly fell in love with a DC film since Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight but I genuinely loved and enjoyed watching Aquaman. It's just sad how it seems like the critics never want to give DC the credit they deserve sometimes. Acumen was a truly entertaining film with amazing cinematography and acting with edge of your seat action that'll make you cheer and scream. Everyone was literally applauding at the end and I left the theatre grinning from ear to ear like a little child that just got a bag of candy. This could have been just another boring origin story but Wan found a way to make it work and gave us an unforgettable superhero film. DC has just been resuscitated by Aquaman and I hope it keeps getting better from here.
RATING 9.5/10
BASED ON Aquaman by Mort Weisinger and Paul Norris
DIRECTOR James Wan
STARRING Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

Review- Who's The Boss (2020)

Directed by Chinaza Onuzo, "Who's The Boss" follows Liah (Sharon Ooja) , an Advertising Executive who struggles to climb the cooperate ladder while juggling her mean and vindictive boss Hauwa (Funke Akindele- Bello). She takes the advice of her best friend Jumoke (Ini Dima-Okojie) and enlists her friend Lekan (Blossom Chukwujekwu), a known play boy into posing as her boss but ends up falling for him. It doesn't get any more cliche than this. After watching the first teaser for the Inkblot comedy, I was a little intrigued and looked forward to seeing how they were going to pull it off but sadly, it fell short in more ways than one. The biggest issue I had was the lead character and the actress cast to play it. Ooja has been typecast and I thought seeing her as the lead would show us a different side to the actress but my perception of her acting skills are worse than before. There's nothing worth remembering about this story and her acting did nothing to el
