Best TV Shows (2018)

There were so many great shows this year and they kept popping up everyday which made it really hard to keep up. From Netflix's "Maniac", Hulu's "Homecoming" and BBC's "Cry", it's been an awesome year for TV with some of these shows getting Golden Globe nominations. Below are five of my favorite TV shows in 2018.

5.
SHARP OBJECTS
I'm not one to stay away from anything starring Amy Adams because her talent as an actress cannot be denied and she proved it yet again in the HBO Psychological Mystery where she played a disturbed Journalist  tasked with writing and investigating some mysterious murders in her small home town. I knew Sharp Objects was going to be good but I wasn't expecting my mind to be blown away by the fantastic story and acting especially from Amy Adams and the stunning Patricia Clarkson. I was glad I didn't read the book it was based on by Gillian Flynn because I probably wouldn't have been as shocked as I was after the finale. Amy Adams' acting was phenomenal and I couldn't get enough of her. I still can't the final scene out of my head.
4.
PATRICK MELROSE
I'm a little bit obbsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch aka Sherlock aka Doctor Strange and watching him play the titular character in the Showtime Drama was mind blowing. The way he potrayed this character was so beleivable that you would actually think it was real. I'll probably never forget the first episode where he portrayed at least five different personalities in less than 5 minutes. Jennifer Jason Leigh also did a fantastic job as his characters mother. This show left me speechless and made me more appreciative of Cumberbatch's astounding acting skills. I loved how the story protrayed the adverse effects of sexual abuse and how it could affect a person mentally.

3.
KILLING EVE
There was so much rave about Killing Eve on the Internet and how much of a good job  BBC  was doing and I knew I had to see it. I love shows about serial killers/assassins and this was no different. Jodie Comer plays Villanelle / Oksana Astankova, a psychopathic assassin who becomes obsessed with Sandra Oh's character, Eve. Jodie Comer is the one who brings this show to life with her fantastic acting. It was so fun watching her because her character was so unpredictable and I kept wondering what she was going to do next. It's definintly one of my favourite shows this year and I can't wait for season 2.
2.
BODYGUARD
BBC was on a high this year as they kept putting out so many awesome shows and Bodyguard starring Game of Throne's Richard Madden was one of my favourites. Theres this unexplainable rush I felt when watching an episode backed up by the fantastic soundtrack that kept me on the edge of my seat every week. It was amazing what Richard Madden did with his role and I look at him in a whole new light since I watched all 6 glorious episode of Bodyguard. It had all the ingredients of a superb Crime Thriller which is why it broke BBC's record as the Most Watched TV Drama since 2008.

1.
AMERICAN CRIME STORY: THE ASSASSINATION OF GIANNI VERSACE
I've always loved Darren Criss but I saw him a different light after watching him play serial killer Andrew Cunnanan in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story. This was more of Cunnanan's story and I loved how it played out on screen. It was intense and Criss' acting gave me serious goosebumps especially in the final episode. The second season of Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story wasn't particularly as great as great as the first one but it was unforgettable.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I c...

"Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Then I thought it was the Police Chief, Bill who was in cahoots with Ado...

Chicago Justice: Series Premiere/Crossover Episode-"Fake"

Image via imdb.com I looked forward to seeing Chicago Justice after it was announced because I love the One Chicago universe even though I'm yet to see the other shows, i'm very familiar with their stories and characters. I'm a crazy fan of Chicago PD so I'm going to binge watch all the episodes of Chicago Fire, but I don't think I'll be able to see Chicago Med. Medical shows are too emotional for me. With Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, I don't know where to start from, but I'll binge watch from season one to eighteen whenever I can for sure.  The four part crossover started with an episode on Chicago Fire and concluded in the season premiere of Chicago Justice. There is a fire at a warehouse and the Chicago Fire crew think it's an accident but Severide (Taylor Kinney) finds metal wedges shoved under the door which means whoever started the fire wanted everyone trapped inside, so its arson.
