Review- Marvel's Venom (2018)

Investigative Journalist, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), an ambitious reporter destroys both his career and his romantic relationship with Anne Weying (Michelle Williams) when he hacks into her computer to get more details on the evil Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) and confronts him about his various shady business deals. Six months later, Brock is struggling to keep his life together and make ends meet but his life changes forever when he is approached by one of Drake's employees,  Dora Skirth (Jenny Slate). She confirms Eddie's previous suspicions and they break into the lab together which leads to Eddie accidentally getting infected by an alien symbiote named Venom who gives him superpowers while communicating with him in his head.  Eddie must rely on his newfound powers to protect the world from a shadowy organization.
Ever since I found out Tom Hardy was going to play the Marvel character, I was literally counting down to the premiere because I knew he was going to amazing. I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing, I just wanted to be entertained and thankfully, I was! Although, the critics haven't been too kind with their reviews but I didn't let it stop me from seeing the Superhero flick. Tom Hardy is a terrific actor so I had no doubt in his acting abilities and his portrayal of the character. At the end of the day, it was really Hardy who made this film worth it. Yes, the script seemed a bit sloppy and some scenes were questionable but it definitely wasn't as shitty as the critics say it was. I loved how witty and intriguing Eddie was especially when he was communicating with his alter-ego. Venom isn't your typical superhero, he's more of an anti-hero and the movie was more good than bad. I loved the action scenes especially the car chase scene. It was adrenaline pumping and I was literally on the edge of my seat. The horror scenes were pretty gruesome and it looked good visually. The plot was all over the place and a lot of the characters except Drake and Venom were forgettable. I think people were expecting something near perfect like The Dark Knight and maybe even Infinity War but for this type of plot, the expectations shouldn't be too high. I wish the climax scene with Venom and Riot was better but it fell a bit flat. Venom wasn't perfect and I don't think it was trying to be, but it's entertaining enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Ignore the critics and see Venom!

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

Review- Who's The Boss (2020)

Directed by Chinaza Onuzo, "Who's The Boss" follows Liah (Sharon Ooja) , an Advertising Executive who struggles to climb the cooperate ladder while juggling her mean and vindictive boss Hauwa (Funke Akindele- Bello). She takes the advice of her best friend Jumoke (Ini Dima-Okojie) and enlists her friend Lekan (Blossom Chukwujekwu), a known play boy into posing as her boss but ends up falling for him. It doesn't get any more cliche than this. After watching the first teaser for the Inkblot comedy, I was a little intrigued and looked forward to seeing how they were going to pull it off but sadly, it fell short in more ways than one. The biggest issue I had was the lead character and the actress cast to play it. Ooja has been typecast and I thought seeing her as the lead would show us a different side to the actress but my perception of her acting skills are worse than before. There's nothing worth remembering about this story and her acting did nothing to el
