Orange is The New Black Season 6 Review- "To The Max!"

After last season's crazy riot that left two guards dead, I was really looking forward to the sixth season of Netflix's award winning show. I needed to know what was going to happen to my favorite Litchfield inmates especially since they split them up at the end of the season. The craziest part was the fact that the evil guard, Piscatella was mistakenly shot by a CERT officer and they were now looking to pin it on one of the inmates, Taystee to be precise. This season, it was obvious that these inmates were only thinking about themselves. Everyone was thinking of how they would get out of the blame game situation with the MCC. In the aftermath of the riot, the inmates are settling into max and trying not to pick fights with the evil max inmates. The characters are left with making decisions that would severe their relationships with certain people. Black Cindy is a perfect example, she literally lied about the riot situation and ended up making her friend, Taystee take the fall. It was so heartbreaking watching the jury find Tasytee guilty of a crime she didn't commit. Danielle Brooks played this role with so much passion that I found myself tearing up in some scenes. After fighting for justice for Poussey's death and being the main negotiator during the riot, I really wanted her to get out of the situation.
A huge part of this season focused on the Carol (Henny Russell) and Barb (Mackenzie Phillips) story line which made the season less compelling. According to what was shown, they were the true queens of max but they weren't very interesting characters or villains.  Their plot was a waste of TV time and I wish they spent that time on more important sub plots like Taystee & Black Cindy's crumbling friendship, Daya's drug abuse, Gloria & Maria's beef, etc. The new characters seemed so out of place and looked like they had no business being on the show. Daddy (Vicci Martinez) and Badison were the only new characters that had that Orange flavour and I'm looking forward to seeing them next season. I wouldn't mind seeing more of Daddy's flashback as a Pimp and Badison as the Max bully. Amanda Fuller as Badison was so fun to watch! She nailed that Boston accent!
Piper hasn't really been an interesting character but I'm really curious to see how her relationship with Alex progresses now that they're no longer in jail together.
There was nothing really exciting about the new guards when compared to the ones in the past seasons. I was expecting the tone to be a bit darker since they were now in Max but it wasn't. Although, they still focused on important topics like Prison Reform and Black Lives Matter, there were a lot of irrelevant flash back scenes that were in no way important to the overall plot.  I miss the old characters especially Maritza. Her relationship with Flaca was the best thing about the show. The other cast member all brought their A-game this season and I wouldn't be surprised if they got more nominations come award season. This season wasn't as fantastic as the first three seasons but it was still very compelling to watch and I can't wait to find out what happens next season. Will Daya fix her drug problem? Will Aleida get her kids back? Is Piper going to do better now that she's out of jail? Will Taystee get justice?

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

"Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Then I thought it was the Police Chief, Bill who was in cahoots with Ado

Chicago Justice: Series Premiere/Crossover Episode-"Fake"

Image via imdb.com I looked forward to seeing Chicago Justice after it was announced because I love the One Chicago universe even though I'm yet to see the other shows, i'm very familiar with their stories and characters. I'm a crazy fan of Chicago PD so I'm going to binge watch all the episodes of Chicago Fire, but I don't think I'll be able to see Chicago Med. Medical shows are too emotional for me. With Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, I don't know where to start from, but I'll binge watch from season one to eighteen whenever I can for sure.  The four part crossover started with an episode on Chicago Fire and concluded in the season premiere of Chicago Justice. There is a fire at a warehouse and the Chicago Fire crew think it's an accident but Severide (Taylor Kinney) finds metal wedges shoved under the door which means whoever started the fire wanted everyone trapped inside, so its arson.
