"Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Then I thought it was the Police Chief, Bill who was in cahoots with Ado...

Orange is The New Black Season 6 Review- "To The Max!"

After last season's crazy riot that left two guards dead, I was really looking forward to the sixth season of Netflix's award winning show. I needed to know what was going to happen to my favorite Litchfield inmates especially since they split them up at the end of the season. The craziest part was the fact that the evil guard, Piscatella was mistakenly shot by a CERT officer and they were now looking to pin it on one of the inmates, Taystee to be precise. This season, it was obvious that these inmates were only thinking about themselves. Everyone was thinking of how they would get out of the blame game situation with the MCC. In the aftermath of the riot, the inmates are settling into max and trying not to pick fights with the evil max inmates. The characters are left with making decisions that would severe their relationships with certain people. Black Cindy is a perfect example, she literally lied about the riot situation and ended up making her friend, Taystee t...

Review- Mom's at War (2018)

In all honesty, when I first saw the trailer for Moms at War, I rolled my eyes intensely at the fact that I was going to sit through almost two hours of another terrible Nollywood comedy but I was wrong. The Omoni Oboli film focused on two moms,  Eberechi Ubosi (Omoni Oboli)  & Olaide Adetola (Funke Akindele) whose kids were fighting for a spot in the World's Scholar's Program which would earn them a scholarship in a prestigious university. These two moms hate each other and it's left to them to keep their differences aside for the sake of their children. I'm not going to pretend that this story isn't something a lot of us have seen at least once, the only difference is that it had an almost perfect execution. The cast, which consisted of Yul Edochie, Sharon Ooja, Eucharia Anunobi, Alvin Abayomi and Bukola Oladipupo all did really well. Although, I didn't particularly like Abayomi as Bayo. He looked too much like a grown man unlike Oladipupo who fit into h...

Review- Seven & a Half Dates (2018)

Starring Mercy Johnson, Sola Sobowale, Jim Iyke & Toyin Abraham, Seven & a Half Dates centered around Bisola (played by Johnson) a young lady whose work life makes it hard for her to have time for relationships. Her younger sister, Mabel, gets engaged and this makes her parents a bit worried that Bisola is running out of time on her marriage clock leaving her father to set her up on 10 blind dates hoping that she may end up with one of them.     Nollywood has been dishing out a lot of disappointing films this year. The story lines always seem recycled and it’s getting really tiring. Same old predictable rom-coms we’ve all seen a billion times. This was a very unrealistic plot with a lot of laughable scenes that’ll make you question why you actually made the decision to see this film. Seemed like they picked the plot from an old Hollywood film. Which Nigerian father would set up his daughter on not one or two but TEN blind dates ? It sounds...

Tom Cruise does the Impossible in Mission Impossible: Fallout

In Mission Impossible: Fallout , Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) race against time after a mission goes wrong. The Mission Impossible series has been quite consistent since the first film in 1996 with Tom Cruise coming back film after film with stunts that leave you on the edge of your seat. The plot for Fallout was particularly darker and I loved it. There was literally no dull moment and even though it was two hours and twenty seven minutes long, I didn't feel it or get bored halfway through the film. Some action films get lost in the middle and the story ends up being all over the place but with Fallout, I found myself screaming and on the edge of my seat during some scenes. Yes, we all knew Mr Hunt was going to save the day but that didn't make it less intense.   I loved Lorne Balfe's work with the score although it gave me some Hans Zimme...
