Shameless Season 8 Premiere Recap- "We Need What We...Frank!"

Image via tvline,com
I've been a huge fan of Shameless since its premiere in 2011 and after the roller coaster that was last season, I was really anticipating its return. Last season, Kevin and Veronica lost their bar to Svetlana, Lip is working on his sobriety and working two jobs and Fiona bought an apartment building. They all inherited a bag of crystal meth from Monica's stash after she died last season and Carl is helping his siblings sell the drugs. Fiona buried hers and Liam's share of the meth with Monica's body and by the beginning of the episode, she's telling Lip how much she wants a real man and is done with having meaningless sex with men from tinder. Fiona is now a land lady and she's trying to get her life in order. She has really come a long way and I'm glad she's finally winning.

Frank is always up to no good but it seems like smoking half of Monica's meth and giving the rest to the needy made him a better person. For now, at least. Throughout the episode, he made amends with the very long list of people he had wronged. His children are very confused and I'm wondering how long the "new Frank" is going to last. One sibling I really want to get his life in order, is Lip. He has gone through so much with Karen and her baby, Mandy, getting expelled and his drinking situation. He still has feelings for Sierra but she's trying to move forward with her son's father. He even offers to babysit her son while she goes on a date. He really wants to drink but instead, he runs all the way to his professors house to pay him back the money for rehab.

Ian is also not over Trevor. He keeps going to the Youth Center to catch his attention. Trevor hasn't completely forgiven Ian for what he did with Mickey. Noel Fisher as Mickey was one on my favorite characters and I actually miss seeing him on the show. Carl got himself a hot tub with the meth money and even though he's moving drugs, he still follows his military schedule. Debbie is now a very hard worker, juggling two jobs and going to welding school. She's finally growing up and I hope she doesn't do anything to mess everything up soon. Meanwhile, at his private school, Liam is always getting pulled out of class so they can flaunt him as part of their diverse environment. Kev and V are still trying to get their bar back from Svetlana. She changed the name to "Putin's Paradise" so V called the ICE on her. I'm so sure we're not seeing the last of Svetlana, after all she's In the US legally.  During one of Kev's escapades at his job in the gay bar, one of the clients notice a lump in his breast and a doctor confirms that he needs to get a biopsy. I'm really hoping Kev doesn't get bad news because he already has so much on his plate. It's amazing how Shameless has stayed relevant after 7 seasons. I always look forward to a new episode and it never gets boring. The show is nearing its end and I really hope it ends with everyone's life on the right track. I just hope Frank doesn't dig out Monica's coffin to get the meth Fiona hid. New episodes of Shameless air every Sunday night.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

Review- Who's The Boss (2020)

Directed by Chinaza Onuzo, "Who's The Boss" follows Liah (Sharon Ooja) , an Advertising Executive who struggles to climb the cooperate ladder while juggling her mean and vindictive boss Hauwa (Funke Akindele- Bello). She takes the advice of her best friend Jumoke (Ini Dima-Okojie) and enlists her friend Lekan (Blossom Chukwujekwu), a known play boy into posing as her boss but ends up falling for him. It doesn't get any more cliche than this. After watching the first teaser for the Inkblot comedy, I was a little intrigued and looked forward to seeing how they were going to pull it off but sadly, it fell short in more ways than one. The biggest issue I had was the lead character and the actress cast to play it. Ooja has been typecast and I thought seeing her as the lead would show us a different side to the actress but my perception of her acting skills are worse than before. There's nothing worth remembering about this story and her acting did nothing to el
