10 Days in Sun City (2017)

I wasn't really enthusiastic to see AY's latest project because I knew it was going to have a similar concept with his previous works "30 days in Atlanta" and "A Trip to Jamaica" but I saw it anyways mostly because of the main cast which includes Richard Mofe-Damijo and Adesua Etomi. The Comedy Drama follows the life of Bianca (Adesua Etomi), a young girl from Warri who comes to Lagos with her manager Akpos (AY) to pursue greener pastures. She ends up winning a beauty pageant as the Queen of Nigeria and this lands them in the cross hairs of a very powerful and dangerous man, Otunba Williams (RMD) who was ready to do anything just to make sure he had Bianca to himself. According to the producers, this is another Adventure of Akpos and I'll like to point out that in the first film (30 Days in Atlanta), RMD plays the father of Kimberly (Karlie Redd), Richard's (Ramsey Noah) love interest. In that same film, Mercy Johnson plays Richard's ex girlfriend Monica who stays in Warri and is crazy about Noah's character. In "10 Days in Sun City", Johnson's character Monica is brought back and apparently she moved out of Warri three years ago and has become wealthy from sleeping with rich men.

Also in this film is RMD who plays an entirely different character. So I was left a little bit confused with the whole concept. If it's meant to be Akpos' adventure and everything is meant to have a particular flow, why is Monica still here from the first film as the same character and RMD here with a totally different character. It doesn't add up. This is supposed to be a series of films with the same characters but there's no mention of the previous characters like Bola (Funke Akindele), his cousin Richard (Noah) and Akpos's love interest from A Trip to Jamaica played by Rebecca Silvera. What happened to them ? So many unanswered questions with this movie. I love Adesua Etomi and she's an amazing actress but I don't think she really fit into this role of a local warri girl who came from nothing. Even the little Pidgin English she spoke didn't sound convincing. The action scenes are also filled with a lot of situations which were too fake and unrealistic. Akpos hits at least five men with bottles on their heads and they pass out immediately. How possible is this please? Why doesn't he pass out after hitting that same bottle on his head ? AY and his friends are able to overpower Otunba's strong men who all had weapons? How? The only scenes I loved were the scenes with Falz, he doesn't have to try too hard to be funny.

In a scene of AY at the club that intertwines with Bianca and Otunba, AY is seen with the same clothes on the same day while Bianca and Otunba are seen in different locations with different clothes.
There's nothing new with this film, the jokes are mediocre and unoriginal but there's still going to be a long queue of people getting tickets at cinemas all over Nigeria. This is a film that doesn't have any lasting impressions on the viewers. You'll literally forget about it immediately you leave the theater, there's nothing solid to hold unto. From the first scene you already know how it's going to end. Do we still need more Adventures from Akpos?

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I cried for two episodes straight) which means

Review- Who's The Boss (2020)

Directed by Chinaza Onuzo, "Who's The Boss" follows Liah (Sharon Ooja) , an Advertising Executive who struggles to climb the cooperate ladder while juggling her mean and vindictive boss Hauwa (Funke Akindele- Bello). She takes the advice of her best friend Jumoke (Ini Dima-Okojie) and enlists her friend Lekan (Blossom Chukwujekwu), a known play boy into posing as her boss but ends up falling for him. It doesn't get any more cliche than this. After watching the first teaser for the Inkblot comedy, I was a little intrigued and looked forward to seeing how they were going to pull it off but sadly, it fell short in more ways than one. The biggest issue I had was the lead character and the actress cast to play it. Ooja has been typecast and I thought seeing her as the lead would show us a different side to the actress but my perception of her acting skills are worse than before. There's nothing worth remembering about this story and her acting did nothing to el
