TV Premiere dates: October 2016


OCTOBER 1
VERSAILLES (Biography/Drama/History)
Set during the reign of King Louis XIV in 1667, the French series is making its debut in the US this October.



OCTOBER 2
ASH VS. EVIL DEAD (Comedy/Horror)
After the events of the evil dead, Ash returns 30 years later to try to save humanity from a demonic plague. It stars Bruce Campbell, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo and Lucy Lawless.


ELEMENTARY (Crime Drama/ Procedural)
Sherlock Holmes (Johnny Lee Miller) returns with his partner Joan Watson (Lucy Lui) with a fifth season on CBS.

MADAM SECRETARY (Political Drama)
Dr Elizabeth McCord continues to balance her life as a wife and as the Secretary of State of the United States. The third season will see Morgan Freeman returning as a guest star.



WESTWORLD (SciFi/Drama)
The new HBO SciFi is directed by Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest), Lisa Joy (Burn Notice) and produced by J.J. Abrams. It is an adaptation of Michael Crichton's 1973 film of the same name about an old west themed amusement park named 'Westworld'. The cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Tessa Thompson, and Sidse Babett Knudsen.



OCTOBER 3
CONVICTION (Legal Drama)
Conviction is about the blackmail of former first daughter Hayes Morrison into becoming the head of the Conviction Integrity Unit which consists of detectives, lawyers and forensic experts. They re-examine cases where they suspect wrongful convictions.


TIMELESS (Drama/Action/Science Fiction)
The upcoming NBC show is about a criminal who steals a time machine to go back in time to change the course of the American history. A team is sent after him using a prototype machine to capture him.




OCTOBER 4
THE FLASH (Superhero/Drama/Action)
The fastest man alive (Barry Allen) comes back with a third season which is going to see Tom Felton (Harry Potter Series) as a guest star.



THE MINDY PROJECT (Comedy)
The Mindy Project brings back B.J. Novak and Bill Hader, while Nasim Pedrad and Bryan Greenberg are the new cast members.


NO TOMORROW (Drama/Comedy)
This Dramedy is about the blossoming romance between Evie (Tori Anderson) and a guy, Xavier (Joshua Sasse) who lives his life like there is no tomorrow because he thinks the apocalypse is coming in eight months. He encourages Evie to write an "apocalyst". While completing the bucket list, her friends try to figure out if he can be taken seriously.


OCTOBER 5
ARROW (Superhero/Drama/Action)
The Green Arrow returns to The CW with new cast members including The Walking Dead's Chad L. Coleman as the villain Tobias Church. There's also going to be flashbacks which would involve a lot of characters from the early seasons including Laurel (Katie Cassidy), Sara (Caity Loitz) and Robert Queen (Jamey Sheridan) whose appearance as noted by the producers of the show will be due to the alternate universe created on "The Flash" which will affect "Arrow".


FREQUENCY (Drama/Mystery/SciFi)
Created by Jermey Carver, the SciFi is about detective Raimy Sullivan who works with the NYPD. She discovers she can speak through an old radio to her deceased father. She tries to save him but it changes things in a big way so she works with him to solve a murder case which is a decade old.


OCTOBER 7
THE RANCH (Comedy)
Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson star in this Netflix comedy about two brothers who are trying to run a business. The second batch of the 20 episode first season starts on October 7.


OCTOBER 9
DIVORCE (Comedy)
After the hit series Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker returns to HBO as the mother of two whose marriage to her long time partner begins to fall apart.


INSECURE (Comedy)
Insecure, created by Issa Rae (Awkward Black Girl) and Larry Wilmore explores the everyday experiences of the black female in South Los Angeles.


OCTOBER 10
2 BROKE GIRLS (Sitcom)
2 Chainz and J. Petto make a guest appearance on the sixth season of the comedy show. Sophie and Oleg will also welcome their baby this season.

SUPERGIRL (Superhero/Action/Drama)
For its second season, Supergirl moves from CBS to The CW which is also the channel of fellow DC Comics shows, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. Expectt a guest appearance from Tyler Heochlin, who is going to play Superman/Clark Kent.


FREAKISH (Drama/Horror)
After a chemical meltdown, a group of high school students struggle against predatory mutants who have taken over their town.


OCTOBER 11
AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE (Comedy)
This upcoming family comedy centers around the life of a woman raising her family in a perfect community while trying to stand out in her hometown of Westport, Connecticut.


CHICAGO FIRE (Drama/Action)
The Chicago Fire Department returns for its fifth season on NBC.


FRESH OFF THE BOAT (Sitcom)
Starring Constance Wu and Randall Park, the sitcom which is loosely based on the memoir of the same name by Eddie Huang about a Taiwanese family who leave Chinatown, Washington D.C to Orlando, Florida to open a cowboy-themed steak restaurant returns to ABC for a second season.


THE MIDDLE (Sitcom)
The eight season of The Middle is set to premiere on October 11 to ABC.


OCTOBER 13
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Superhero/Drama/Action)
The first season garnered a lot of viewers which led to the announcement of a second season before the first season ended. It premieres a week after the Flash and Arrow on The CW. Patrick. J. Adams (Suits) makes a guest appearance.


OCTOBER 14
GOLIATH (Legal Drama)
An ambulance chaser who was a disgraced lawyer gets a case that would help him gain redemption and revenge on the firm that fired him.


OCTOBER 16
EYEWITNESS (Drama)
The upcoming USA Network drama is based on the Norwegian series, Oyevitne. 


GRAVES (Comedy)
The show is about Graves, the former U.S president who is on a journey to fix the damage his policies did to the country.

OCTOBER 17
JANE THE VIRGIN (Romantic comedy/Drama/Telenovela
The narrator of the show, Anthony Mendez revealed that Jane would finally have sex in the third season. Young and Restless star Miles Gaston Villanueva has been cast as Sam who was Jane's friend before she met Michael and Rafael. According to the show runners, this season is going to be crazier than the last two.


OCTOBER 19
CHANCE (Thriller)
Chance premieres on Hulu on October 19 and it is based on the book of the same name by Kem Nunnn about a forensic neuro-psychiatrist who becomes involved in a world of mistaken identity, mental illness and police corruption.


OCTOBER 21
BLACK MIRROR (Science Fiction/Satire)
Black Mirror is a British Anthology that examines the modern society with dark and satirical themes.


CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (Comedy)
After winning two Emmy's, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend returns with its sophomore season


THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Supernatural/Drama)
The eight season will be the last for this show.


OCTOBER 23
THE WALKING DEAD (Horror/Drama)
After ending the sixth season with a cliffhanger, the seventh season begins on October 23.


OCTOBER 24
MAN WITH A PLAN (Sitcom)
Matt LeBlanc (Friends) stars in this CBS sitcom which was created by Jackie and Jeff Filgo.


OCTOBER 27
THE GREAT INDOORS (Comedy)
The upcoming comedy is about an adventure reporter who becomes the boss of a group of people in the digital department of a Magazine and It stars Joel McHale (The Soup, Community).


PURE GENIUS (Medical Drama)
A veteran surgeon is enlisted by a Silicon Valley tech-Titan to start a hospital to treat rare and incurable diseases.


OCTOBER 28
GOOD GIRLS REVOLT (Historical period drama)
The Amazon show is based on a book which was inspired by the true story of the same name.


OCTOBER 31
PEOPLE OF EARTH (Comedy)
A group of people think that they have been abducted by aliens and they are interviewed by a journalist, Wyatt Jones who was skeptical at the beginning becomes intrigued the more he learns about them.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

        The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. "Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

   Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Chicago Justice: Series Premiere/Crossover Episode-"Fake"

Image via imdb.com I looked forward to seeing Chicago Justice after it was announced because I love the One Chicago universe even though I'm yet to see the other shows, i'm very familiar with their stories and characters. I'm a crazy fan of Chicago PD so I'm going to binge watch all the episodes of Chicago Fire, but I don't think I'll be able to see Chicago Med. Medical shows are too emotional for me. With Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, I don't know where to start from, but I'll binge watch from season one to eighteen whenever I can for sure.  The four part crossover started with an episode on Chicago Fire and concluded in the season premiere of Chicago Justice.
