Review- Namaste Wahala (2021)

Raj (Ruslaan Mumtaz), an Investment Banker meets and instantly falls in love with Didi (Ini Dima-Okojie). However, their parents are against the union due to their cultural differences and it's left to Didi and Raj to prove that their love is stronger than any cultural difference they have. Directed by first time filmmaker Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, the Indo-Nigerian film had a lot more misses than hits.

The two leads lacked any form of chemistry and their failed attempt at a dance number fell flat. The character development was poor making it very hard for the audience to root for this couple who only just met one dance number ago. Things only go downhill when Raj's mom lands in Lagos. She worries that Raj will only get thinner due to the fact that Didi is unable to make his favorite Indian meals. In a scene that was most likely supposed to be funny, Raj's mom and Didi engage in a cooking competition. This scene looked so forced and it only made me cringe even more.

The characters and the dialogue were poorly written leaving you with a really bad taste after each scene. Preemo (Osas Ighodaro) was one character that got me really confused. I never understood why she openly hated Didi even with the fact that her boss was Didi's father. It's okay to hate the boss' daughter but to do it openly in front of your boss just did not sit right with me as it was very unrealistic. In one scene, Angie & Emma decide that they should all go out to have some fun and with MI's "Action Film" playing in the background, he joins them as they're surrounded with lots of bottles of coke. This scene looked more like a coke commercial and MI's presence was unnecessary. The product placement in Namaste Wahala is extremely obvious and one that needed more thought put into it. The cinematography and editing were poor and the theme song constantly playing in the background didn't make things better.

You can watch Namaste Wahala on Netflix.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I c...

Goodbye Mike & Rachel- Suits' Seventh Season Finale Review

Suits is one of my favorite Legal Drama's and for some reason, I'm still very invested in the show after 7 seasons. I don't think they've had any bad season and they've done such a great job with the growth and development of the major characters but the time to say goodbye to Mike and Rachel was finally here. Due to the fact that Meghan Markle would be getting married to Prince Harry, I guess it was a good time to wrap up her love story with Mike and they do this with the fairy tale wedding we've all been waiting for. Mike and Rachel have been an item since the first season and have been engaged since the fifth. They would have been married a season ago but were not able to because of Mike's time in prison. I always loved their chemistry and I was so sad to see them say goodbye and more than anything, I loved Mike and Harvey's relationship. It was so genuine and pure. The two final episodes of the final season of Suits aired back to back and...

Snowfall Season One Finale Review- "The Rubicon"

There's no denying that this season has been intense for the four major characters and everyone around them. The first season of Snowfall was all over the place but the by the 8th episode, I was convinced the writers finally got their thoughts together. The pilot episode was good and I felt this was a show I was going to fall in love with, but it became a struggle to watch after the third episode.  They got my attention back after Leon was shot in the final scene of the 8th episode. Franklin got himself into a very dangerous business which I still think he hasn't fully realized. He wants to hustle hard and make sure he's mom doesn't have to bother herself about anything, but she's disappointed when she finds out about her son's extra curricular activities. The neighborhood knows that he's the boss and he's really all about the money.  Damson Idris brings his character of Franklin to life and I couldn't see anyone else playing this role. He's ...
