11 Most Shocking and Devastating TV Deaths

There are spoilers all over this post so read with caution!

I get emotionally attached to most of the TV series I follow and it's so hard when they kill one of the characters I love. From Will Gardner in The Good Wife, Allison Bailey in The Affair and Ned Stark in Game of Thrones, it's been a TV emotional roller coaster for me.

Here's a list of some of my most shocking and emotional TV Deaths.

Will Gardner "The Good Wife" (Josh Charles) 2016
Will Gardner was one of my favorite characters in The Good Wife and I always wished and hoped he would end up having a future with Alicia. I was really rooting for them but this was cut off by his extremely shocking death in the hands of his emotionally distraught client. Remembering how Kalinda raced to the hospital and found Will's body missing a shoe still haunts me to this day. And of course I cried for 2 hours non stop while watching this scene. It was so gut wrenching.
Allison Bailey "The Affair" (Ruth Wilson) 2018
I always rave about The Affair to anyone that cares to listen because I think it's one of the best shows on TV right now. I love how they tell the story from the perspective of the protagonists which makes it extremely hard to detect who's being a little extra or who's being honest. Allison's story was filled with sadness but I never pushed aside the thought of a happy ending for her and any man other than Noah or Cole so her sudden death in the hands of Ben Cruz (Ramon Rodriguez) was something I never anticipated.Show runner, Sarah Treem revealed that Ruth Wilson requested to leave the show so her character was killed.
Nick Brody "Homeland" (Damian Lewis) 2013
After coming back home from being a Prisoner of War for eight years and finally reuniting with his family,Brody is seen as a war hero but he was already turned by Al-Qaeda. He eventually became a fugitive at the end of the second season  after getting framed by the terrorist Abu Nazir. Brody escaped death a few times but he eventually met his demise at the end of the third season in a public square in Iran with Carrie watching from a distance.
Peter Quinn "Homeland" (Rupert Friend) 2017
Peter Quinn was one of my favorite characters on Holemand and I always saw him as a "semi-mortal" character but he was shot multiple times at the end of the sixth season while trying to save Carrie and the President-elect Keane. After almost dying in season 5, I was so sure Quinn was not going to be placed in such a situation again but I was so wrong. He was such a brave character and he died without even saying goodbye to Carrie. It was so heartbreaking and it led to an open letter being sent by a group of viewers to the show runner Alex Gansa airing their grievances about the way Quinn died. Everyone felt he deserved better.
Alvin Olinsky "Chicago PD" (Elias Koteas) 2018
I've always been a massive fan of Chicago PD. It's that Procedural that's not too grimy and has just the right amount of heart to make you fall in love with the main characters. I was a fan of Olinsky's laid back-no-nonsense-character. He didn't have to do much but it was best not to cross him. After getting arrested for a murder he didn't commit and refusing to turn in his best friend, Al died after getting stabbed in prison.
Zoe Barnes "House of Cards" (Kate Mara)- 2014
House of Cards used to be so thrilling to watch! Everyone was always looking out for Frank's (Kevin Spacey) next move and pushing ambitious journalist  Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) in front of a train was one of the biggest shockers throughout the series. Her murder was made to look like either an accident or suicide.
Eddard Stark "Game of Thrones" (Sean Bean) -2011
I never read the George R.R. Martin books Game of Thrones was based on so watching Ned Stark's head get chopped off in season one was a bit of a shocker. He seemed like a very important character so his death, which was ordered by Geoffrey was a great shocker
Hank Schrader "Breaking Bad" (Dean Norris) 2013
After getting lied to multiple times by his brother-in-law, Walter aka Heisenberg, Hank gets entangled in a shoot out with Jack and his crew. Walt gives up his share of the money to save Hank but this didn't change Jack's mind because he still ended up shooting Hank in the head. Hank gets buried alongside his partner in the same hole Walt dug to hide his money.
Wes Gibbons "How To Get Away With Murder" (Alfred Enoch) 2017
We all know how good Pete Nowalk is with keeping viewers guessing and on the edge of their seat. Everyone played the guessing game trying to find out who was under the sheet and dead as a result of a house fire at Annalise's home. It was finally revealed in the mid-season finale that it was Annalise's favorite, Wes. The whole internet went crazy after this episode aired. Nobody expected Wes because he was a very important character. I certainly didn't expect it and it left a lot of fans devastated.
The Red Wedding- Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Talisa Stark"Game of Thrones" 2013

Even though I watched this episode a while after it premiered, nothing prepared me for the bloody massacre that took place in The Red Wedding. I was gripped with shock and sadness for Robb and Catelyn. Several characters were murdered in this episode and it was a really terrifying scene to watch. In another show, Robb would sail off to avenge the death of his father, Ned, and live happily ever after with his wife and kids but Game of Thrones isn't that type of show.
Poussey Washington "Orange is The New Black" (Samira Wiley)- 2016
It was impossible not to love and root for Samira Wiley's character in Netflix's Orange is The New Black so watching her die in such a horrible manner was so sad to watch. Her accidental death shook up the prison and it's inmates and changed the course of everything on the show.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I c...

"Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Then I thought it was the Police Chief, Bill who was in cahoots with Ado...

Chicago Justice: Series Premiere/Crossover Episode-"Fake"

Image via imdb.com I looked forward to seeing Chicago Justice after it was announced because I love the One Chicago universe even though I'm yet to see the other shows, i'm very familiar with their stories and characters. I'm a crazy fan of Chicago PD so I'm going to binge watch all the episodes of Chicago Fire, but I don't think I'll be able to see Chicago Med. Medical shows are too emotional for me. With Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, I don't know where to start from, but I'll binge watch from season one to eighteen whenever I can for sure.  The four part crossover started with an episode on Chicago Fire and concluded in the season premiere of Chicago Justice. There is a fire at a warehouse and the Chicago Fire crew think it's an accident but Severide (Taylor Kinney) finds metal wedges shoved under the door which means whoever started the fire wanted everyone trapped inside, so its arson. Image via nbc.com The warehouse was a spot...
