Review- Happy Death Day (2017)

Image via imdb.com
Happy Death Day is about Tree (Jessica Rothe), a typical sorority girl who isn't so nice to a lot of people. On her birthday, she wakes up in the dorm room of the guy she left a party with and before the end of the day, Tree is murdered by a weird person wearing a very creepy baby mask. The day keeps resetting and she keeps getting killed by the same person. It takes a toll on her body and she gets weaker each time. Tree has to find out who her killer is so she could stop the person and live to see a new day.

I was so hyped about Happy Death Day because Slasher movies can be fun to watch and I'm so glad they didn't disappoint with the content. Jessica Rothe was perfect for this role and I love how her character developed as the movie progressed. You hate her at the beginning but you start to feel really bad for her and wish she would find her killer. Even though the day kept repeating, it never became dull. The phases only got better. Happy Death Day isn't a horror, it's more of a comedy. Although, there were a few scenes that could actually make you gasp and scream. The concept of a protagonist living the same day over and over again has been done a few times, (Groundhog Day, Edge of Tomorrow) but not everyone can get it right and Happy Death Day did. I was not so pleased with who the killer was because it was pretty obvious from the beginning but I was still happy with it. This isn't the best film I've seen this year, but I really enjoyed watching it. There are few times I thought the movie was over but then, the nightmare continued. It's filled with a lot of clichés but it had a lot of good moments which made for a fun cinema experience.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I c...

Goodbye Mike & Rachel- Suits' Seventh Season Finale Review

Suits is one of my favorite Legal Drama's and for some reason, I'm still very invested in the show after 7 seasons. I don't think they've had any bad season and they've done such a great job with the growth and development of the major characters but the time to say goodbye to Mike and Rachel was finally here. Due to the fact that Meghan Markle would be getting married to Prince Harry, I guess it was a good time to wrap up her love story with Mike and they do this with the fairy tale wedding we've all been waiting for. Mike and Rachel have been an item since the first season and have been engaged since the fifth. They would have been married a season ago but were not able to because of Mike's time in prison. I always loved their chemistry and I was so sad to see them say goodbye and more than anything, I loved Mike and Harvey's relationship. It was so genuine and pure. The two final episodes of the final season of Suits aired back to back and...

Snowfall Season One Finale Review- "The Rubicon"

There's no denying that this season has been intense for the four major characters and everyone around them. The first season of Snowfall was all over the place but the by the 8th episode, I was convinced the writers finally got their thoughts together. The pilot episode was good and I felt this was a show I was going to fall in love with, but it became a struggle to watch after the third episode.  They got my attention back after Leon was shot in the final scene of the 8th episode. Franklin got himself into a very dangerous business which I still think he hasn't fully realized. He wants to hustle hard and make sure he's mom doesn't have to bother herself about anything, but she's disappointed when she finds out about her son's extra curricular activities. The neighborhood knows that he's the boss and he's really all about the money.  Damson Idris brings his character of Franklin to life and I couldn't see anyone else playing this role. He's ...
