Binge Worthy: Orange Is The New Black Season Five Review

Image via dailyexpress.com
I know binging a show can be a lot of work, but if it's a good show like Netflix's Dramedy Orange Is The New Black, best believe you'll be done in no time. After the death of Poussey at the end of season four, tensions rose among the inmates due to the fact that Warden Joe Caputo didn't bring the justice needed against Officer Bailey. The season ended with Daya pointing a loaded gun to Officer Humphrey while the other inmates cheered her on to shoot him. This season Daya shoots him in the leg and this is the beginning of all their problems. The riot escalates and the prison guards, including Caputo are taken hostage. The prisoners are finally able to air their grievances through Taystee who speaks to the press live and through YouTube videos about what went down inside the prison. The riot ends in a terrible way, the prisoners are split into two and placed in different buses.

Throughout the show, the major characters have always been against each other but this season was different. They all came together to fight for a better system. This season also gave us a background of Piscatella and how he ended up in Litchfield. Officer Bailey, in his guilt stricken phase attempts to commit suicide and even goes to Poussey's father as a means of closure but this didn't work out too. These last few seasons, the focus of the show has shifted from Piper and Alex to other more interesting characters like Taystee, Red, Nicky, Cindy, Flaritza, Gloria and Maria. I honestly feel like the show could do without Piper's character. Most of her flashbacks this season were totally unnecessary and was a waste of TV time.

There was also a flashback of Alison, but this was never completed and we never got to know how she got into jail. I actually think the flashbacks have become unnecessary. They were important before but this season they weren't. Maria stealing Gloria's plan of releasing the guards showed what any mother would do to see their kids even if it was for a few minutes and backstabbing a few people along the line. I felt really emotional and sad for Gloria when she found out what Maria did. These women acted their parts so well, it was almost believable. Pennsatucky's story line with Coates gave me the creeps and really disgusted me. I couldn't help but just get pissed every time they came on, it's like I wanted to reach into the screen and slap Tiffany.

Uzo Aduba did huge justice to Suzanne like she always did, but this season was just epic. Suzanne was an emotional mess and Uzo made it look so real and sad. I'll confess, I was teary eyed a few times. She definitely deserves more awards for this role. This season has to be the funniest yet for Maritza and Flaca -#Flaritza-. I loved the fact that they switched their uniforms for sexier clothes. They were so funny without trying too hard and I was heartbroken when they placed them in different buses. I really wonder what's going to become of these inmates next season because they might all be taken to different prisons. But at the same time, the next season could return a few weeks or months after the riot with everyone back in Litchfield which means this would be a false cliffhanger. Let's not forget Linda, who I hope is going to get recognized wherever she's sent to next season. I enjoyed watching this season of Orange is the new black, it was totally #BingeWorthy.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I c...

"Don't Tell Mama"- The Shocking Sharp Objects Season Finale

Sharp Objects easily tops the list of my all time favorite TV Series. The HBO Limited Series aired it eight and final episode last night and it's something I'll probably never forget. I'm trying so hard to find the right words to describe this amazing show and the phenomenal acting from Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen. They were just too perfect. Throughout the season, we've all been trying to figure out who the killer was in this whodunnit and I had so many theories. I never believed it was John Keene because most times, it's always the person you least expect that'll end up being the perpetrator. My first suspect was Alan (Henry Czerny), Adora's husband and Amma's father. I thought the only reason he would venture out to killing teenage girls was due to the fact that he was no longer as had a bond with his daughter and his loveless marriage but I was so wrong. Then I thought it was the Police Chief, Bill who was in cahoots with Ado...

Chicago Justice: Series Premiere/Crossover Episode-"Fake"

Image via imdb.com I looked forward to seeing Chicago Justice after it was announced because I love the One Chicago universe even though I'm yet to see the other shows, i'm very familiar with their stories and characters. I'm a crazy fan of Chicago PD so I'm going to binge watch all the episodes of Chicago Fire, but I don't think I'll be able to see Chicago Med. Medical shows are too emotional for me. With Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, I don't know where to start from, but I'll binge watch from season one to eighteen whenever I can for sure.  The four part crossover started with an episode on Chicago Fire and concluded in the season premiere of Chicago Justice. There is a fire at a warehouse and the Chicago Fire crew think it's an accident but Severide (Taylor Kinney) finds metal wedges shoved under the door which means whoever started the fire wanted everyone trapped inside, so its arson.
