Atlanta Season One Premiere

FX's new show Atlanta created by Donald Glover has been creating quite a buzz just after a few episodes. The show is about the life of Earnest "Earn" Marks (Donald Glover) who after dropping out of college offers to manage his cousin Alfred "Paper boi" Miles who is on his way to becoming one of Atlanta's hottest rappers. Earn shuffles between staying at his girlfriend's (who he has a daughter with) house and his parent's house while trying to shape up his life and that of his daughter's.

If you followed the NBC comedy Community where Glover played the role of a college student Troy Barnes, then you already know he's one of the only actors that can pull of such a role. On Atlanta, Glover is credited as the creator, writer, director and executive producer. The first three episodes of Atlanta has a bit of humor but also a lot of seriousness. One minute you're laughing and the next minute you're feeling bad.

Just few minutes into the first episode and you already know  this is a show you're going to get sucked into. Most of the comedic scenes come from Alfred "Paper Boi"s right hand man Darius (Keith Stanfield) and the show delves into issues concerning family, what it's like to be black and the music industry. Donald Glover whose stage name is Childish Gambino has been on a low key for a while now and I kept searching the internet for an update on new music or new movie projects from him, I guess the wait was worth it because his show Atlanta is what television viewers have been waiting for. After the overwhelming success of the first four episodes, FX announced that it had renewed Atlanta for a second season.

 Here's a trailer of Atlanta.

  1. I'll have to admit, "Troy" is really talented, so no surprises here for me about the quality of his work. I'll have to check it out.

SUITS: Season 6 finale

The 6th season of suits has been quite an emotional one with Mike's would be wedding with Rachel, his going to Prison and Rachel's death row case. Death row cases can get really sad especially if the suspect is innocent which was the case of Leonard Bailey (Glenn Plummer) who was accused of murdering two people. After staying behind bars for 12 years, Leonard Bailey was finally exonerated with the help of Rachel and Jessica (Gina Torres). During this episode, a major character said goodbye to the show. Gina Torres decided to leave Suits to film another TV Show 'Catch' and it was quite emotional. This episode showed a different side of Jessica Pearson, she put her pro Bono case first before the firm and fought for the freedom of Leonard Bailey.          Gina Torres will no longer be a series regular and I was happy her character wasn't killed off like Will Gardner in the Good Wife, (I c...

Goodbye Mike & Rachel- Suits' Seventh Season Finale Review

Suits is one of my favorite Legal Drama's and for some reason, I'm still very invested in the show after 7 seasons. I don't think they've had any bad season and they've done such a great job with the growth and development of the major characters but the time to say goodbye to Mike and Rachel was finally here. Due to the fact that Meghan Markle would be getting married to Prince Harry, I guess it was a good time to wrap up her love story with Mike and they do this with the fairy tale wedding we've all been waiting for. Mike and Rachel have been an item since the first season and have been engaged since the fifth. They would have been married a season ago but were not able to because of Mike's time in prison. I always loved their chemistry and I was so sad to see them say goodbye and more than anything, I loved Mike and Harvey's relationship. It was so genuine and pure. The two final episodes of the final season of Suits aired back to back and...

Snowfall Season One Finale Review- "The Rubicon"

There's no denying that this season has been intense for the four major characters and everyone around them. The first season of Snowfall was all over the place but the by the 8th episode, I was convinced the writers finally got their thoughts together. The pilot episode was good and I felt this was a show I was going to fall in love with, but it became a struggle to watch after the third episode.  They got my attention back after Leon was shot in the final scene of the 8th episode. Franklin got himself into a very dangerous business which I still think he hasn't fully realized. He wants to hustle hard and make sure he's mom doesn't have to bother herself about anything, but she's disappointed when she finds out about her son's extra curricular activities. The neighborhood knows that he's the boss and he's really all about the money.  Damson Idris brings his character of Franklin to life and I couldn't see anyone else playing this role. He's ...
