Sherlock: The Final Problem

Image via bbc.com In The Final Problem, we got to see one of the most evil villains after Moriarty and and she was a Holmes. This season finale which I still hope isn't the end of the series was very intense and full of mystery. Instead of starting from where the last cliff hanging episode ended with Euros Holmes pointing a gun at John, the episode begins with a little girl on a plane with everyone sleeping. She picks up a phone and we hear the voice of no other than Moriarty. "Hello, my name is Jim Moriarty. Welcome to the final problem." In the next scene, Mycroft is watching an old movie which gets interrupted by a message saying "I'm back!". The lights start flickering, so Mycroft gets up to look around the basement and blood starts coming out of the eyes of the pictures on the walls. He thinks Euros is actually in his apartment but apparently it was only Sherlock & John putting up a show to scare him into telling them about Euros. They all ...

Shooter: Season One Finale

Ryan Phillipe as Bob Lee Swagger (Image via washingtonpost.com) The episode picked up where episode 9 left off. The Swaggers, Nadine & Isaac are trying to put together a plan to save Mary. Julie harasses the Russian Ambassador to draw attention to the kidnapping of her daughter. Bob Lee impersonates a security guard to be able to get into the Embassy and he successfully gets Mary. The Ambassador, possibly trying to avoid an international incident helps Bob Lee get Mary. They reunite with Julie and instead of just fleeing the country with his family, Bob Lee decides to stay and complete his plan. Krukov put a tracker into the food he gave Mary at the embassy to be able to locate Julie & get Annex B. He sends his men to find Bob Lee and kill him while he went to the motel himself to find Julie & Mary. Bob Lee took out multiple guys at once but Nadine and Isaac still backed him up even when it looked like he really didn't need any help. They both got shot almost imme...

Sherlock: The Lying Detective

Image via bbc.co.uk The Lying Detective is what I describe as a real Sherlock episode which was much stronger than the last episode, The Six Thatchers . After watching this episode I was thrown into all sorts of thoughts and questions. The episode begins with John (who is still mourning) at a therapist's office and he  starts hallucinating and talking to Mary who is dead. Sherlock is back on drugs, isn't keen on seeing anyone and has a drug dealer living with him. The first thirty minutes were filled with voice overs, flashbacks, visual effects and playful transition. Faith the daughter of Culverton Smith, a famous entrepreneur and philanthropist visits Sherlock at his apartment. She tells him about a meeting she had with her father and a few other people three years ago where her father connects everyone in the room to a drip with a drug that would erase their memory after he tells them that he was going to kill someone. She gives Sherlock a paper where she managed to wri...

A United Kingdom

Poster via imdb.com Based on a true story, A United Kingdom is about the former president of Botswana Sir Setetse Khama and his wife Ruth Williams Khama. In 1948, Seretse Khama, the Prince of Bechuenaland (now Botswana) falls in love with Ruth Williams. Their relationship is not accepted by their families in England and Bechuenaland. Ruth agrees to Marry Seretse to the dismay of her father who refused to speak to her. She goes to Bechuenaland with Seretse and isn't so welcomed there either. During this period of Apartheid, Interracial marriage had been banned so Seretse was exiled for five years and then for life. An enquiry was launched by the British Parliament to assert Khama's fitness to rule Bechuenaland. He was eventually allowed to go back and he returned with his wife and daughter in 1956.  Image via imdb.com Though not seen in the movie, Khama went on to become the first democratically elected president of Botswana in 1966 after the country gained independ...
